Frequently asked questions.
How does Pare see what's opened?
A camera mounted over the back table reads each package by barcode, printed label or appearance as it's opened. At close, unused items go in one bin and are read in one pass. The camera frames the back table only.
Does Pare need an EHR integration?
Not to start. Pare works from exports you already have: charge batches, preference cards and your item master. Writing back to the EHR can come later.
What can actually be recovered?
Separately billable items: implants carved out in payer contracts, pass-through devices, and chargeable supplies at hospitals. Most supplies are bundled into the procedure payment, so for those Pare lowers cost by fixing the card rather than adding revenue.
Does Pare change charges or cards on its own?
No. Pare drafts each fix and names who approves it. Billing posts charges, surgeons sign card changes, and emergency items never move.
How accurate is it?
We report accuracy only from tests at your site. During a pilot, staff hand-count a sample of cases so you can compare Pare's record with your own count.
What about patient privacy?
The camera points at the back table, not the patient. Faces and patient labels stay out of frame, and Pare keeps package images rather than video of the room.
How is Pare different from OR video platforms?
OR video platforms track when things happen in the room: wheels in, incision, turnover. Pare tracks what was opened on the back table and whether it was billed. They answer different questions and can run side by side.
